Stars of “Bachelorette” Gabby Windey and Erich Schwer parted ways less than two months later

Less than two months after the season finale, Gabby Windey and Erich Schwer called it quits on their engagement. It was apparently called off by Gabby.

Less than two months after announcing their engagement on Sept. 20 at The Bachelorette finale, Gabby Windey and Erich Schwer have broken up. According to a second insider who spoke with the magazine, Gabby started the separation earlier this week. They claimed, “She thought they weren’t on the same page and weren’t aligned.” Gabby had hoped they could give each other some distance and sort things out, but she ultimately came to the conclusion they had no future.

The separation announcement came amid rumblings of problems in paradise, especially when Gabby, 31, intimated during a Fox News interview on October 31 that she and Erich, 29, were taking some time apart. After being spotted two weeks in a row on Dancing with the Stars sans her engagement ring, she explained, “Life is just incredibly busy for the both of us right now.” We’re just kind of, you know, moving forward with each of our separate hobbies and supporting each other from a distance, so I can see their concern.

Even though he had been spotted previously in the season cheering on the former Bachelorette, Erich wasn’t watching the broadcast that night. Nevertheless, he made a post encouraging her on his Instagram Story. Gabby exclusively revealed just before the start of Season 31 of Dancing with the Stars that “supporting” Erich intended to “come to as many performances he can.” “He understands how much this means to me, and it does right now, but it’s only temporary,” she continued. Just one more thing, really. Now that we don’t have to sneak about, it’s good that we can truly be in public.

As recently she raved about Erich while discussing how her fiancé reacted to sensual dances between her and her professional partner Val Chmerkovskiy. “Erich is very encouraging I think it’s a learning curve for all of us,” she said during a news conference. “We’ve never performed in this venue before, so it was wonderful to have Jenna Johnson visit the rehearsal room, teach me, and allow me to absorb her knowledge. Erich has been extremely helpful. He is aware that we are performing, and that there is a purpose.”

Erich, as the fans are aware, was Gabby’s choice for The Bachelorette’s 26th season. She felt certain that she was prepared to commit to Erich for the rest of her life, but Erich wasn’t so sure. But after giving it some thought, he got down on one knee and proposed to her.

Not just Erich and Gabby from Bachelor Nation have just called it quits on their relationship. After meeting on Season 26 of The Bachelorette, in which Susie served as a co-Bachelorette with Gabby, Clayton Echard and Susie Evans split up in September. The two reconciled by the time the After the Final Rose special aired, albeit they did not depart as a couple on the show. Additionally, Jacqueline Trumbull and Paul Seli, alumni of season 22 of The Bachelor, called off their engagement during the summer, two weeks before they were supposed to say “I do.”
